A museum for the whole family and all ages

The Munktell Museum is an exciting museum for the whole family and all ages – tractor-loving children, the motor enthusiast and the real construction machine enthusiast all find great joy in the museum’s unique collection of large machines and technical products.

Historic land

In Munktellstaden since 1991

The Munktell Museum is located in Munktellstaden in Eskilstuna, an old industrial district that has been renovated and now houses everything from culture and sports, to music and food. The museum was opened in 1991 by Bengt Ohlin, former information manager, and Jarl Hellicius, former human resources manager, and from the beginning the area was 1,700 m².

Solid collection

Over 200 objects in the collections

Today, the collections consist of about 200 objects, of which about 90 can be viewed on the museum's exhibition areas, which today comprise about 5,000 m². A large part of the veteran machines were in the company's possession even before the museum was established, and the collections allow visitors to experience more than 180 years of Swedish industrial history. The premises that the museum owns were previously space for engine testing, construction and machining.
